Due to continued expansion, ULs Transaction Security Division is looking to recruit a (Java) Software Engineer for our successful office based in São Paulo.
The Software Engineer works in the Service Line Test Tools. This Service Line designs, develops and maintains tools for testing smartcards and all related systems, such as point-of-sales terminals, ATMs, readers, data processing systems, switches, mobile devices, et cetera across a range of industries: payment, mobile, ID management, transit. Our tools, consisting of desktop software, web-based applications and specialized hardware, are able to test products and ensure if a product works according to the stated standards and specifications. The Service Line also delivers related technical consultancy to customers worldwide.
The Java Software Engineer develops essential components for the frameworks on which all our test tools run. You will contribute improving and extending our test automation platform, developing custom made user interface modules to the needs of our customers and hardware interface modules interfacing with our range of hardware systems. You will contribute to develop a stable architecture and a user friendly, intuitive application environment.
As a Software Engineer you will work in an international environment, cooperating with experts and product developers from the Service Test Line Tools in the Netherlands and other UL colleagues located in our offices across the globe.
Develop software program by analyzing requirements, preparing specifications, designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting,
Create technical design, implementation and perform testing of various desktop, web-based, mobile, and customized applications,
Improving software performance by customizing purchased software and suggesting new technology,
Resolves problems by researching, documenting issues, diagnosing and recommending solutions,
Provide accurate and detailed estimates for tasks, delivering on commitments,
Assist in writing manuals and perform quality assurance related tasks,
Provide services to our customers through product deployment, support and advice.
Completed Bachelor, Master or PhD level education in a technical area such as: Computer Science, Information Science, Mathematics, Physics, etc.,
Affinity and/or experience in one or more of the following areas is to your advantage: XML, C, C, C, smartcards, RFID, secure systems, payment, mobile, data processing, networking (TCP/IP), cryptography,
Affinity with and a minimum of 2 years experience in Java development, SVN (or other versioning system), and integrated build processes is to your advantage,
Affinity and/or experience with frameworks and toolkits such as Spring, jQuery, bootstrap, AngularJS, hibernate,
Basic knowledge of software development tools (versioning systems, bug tracking tools) and processes (continuous integration, automatic testing),
Capability of creating good user experience through an intuitive Graphical User Interface is to your advantage,
Analytical, technical, attentive to detail, customer focused, communicative, result driven, team player, eager to learn, ambitious, and entrepreneurial skills,
A drive to deliver state-of-the-art products,
Ability to work well in an international environment,
Good communication skills and able to self-organize,
Proficiency in speaking and writing both Portuguese and English
